We have developed proprietary technologies for producing low cost cellulosic sugars from non-food based biomass.

GreenPower+® is a patented technology for the production of low cost cellulosic sugars from the hemicelluloses of biomass in co-production mode.

AVAP® is a patented technology for the production of low cost cellulosic sugars from the cellulose and hemicelluloses of any biomass in a stand alone facility.

Growth

We have built one of the nation’s first cellulosic ethanol production facilities.

Our Alpena Biorefinery started up in June 2012. The biorefinery will convert hardwood hemicelluloses cellulosic sugars and acetic acid and further convert the sugars to cellulosic ethanol and the acetic acid to biobased potassium acetate deicer.
