American Process Inc. is a global leader in the development of technologies for the commercial production of sugar and ethanol from non-food based biomass such as woodchips.
Our Alpena Biorefinery, one of the USA's first cellulosic ethanol plants started up in Q2, 2012.
Our demonstration facility for AVAP technology and BioPlus Nanocellulose production.
GreenPower+® is a patented technology for the production of low cost cellulosic sugars from the hemicelluloses of biomass in co-production mode.
AVAP® is a patented technology for the production of low cost cellulosic sugars from the cellulose and hemicelluloses of any biomass in a stand alone facility.
Our Alpena Biorefinery started up in June 2012. The biorefinery converts hardwood hemicelluloses cellulosic sugars and acetic acid and further converts the sugars to cellulosic ethanol and the acetic acid to biobased potassium acetate deicer. On April 2014 the Alpena Biorefinery sold the first cellulosic ethanol RINs.
