Description

• To open the Two_Stage_Flash model, click on the Examples project and select it from Models tree.
• There are two case models. In left, a case model composed from two flash tank blocks in series. In right, a single compound block model is performing the same operation with the left model.

• The creation of the Compound block was described in Building a composite model.

Usage Tips

• Most of apiMAX users should know that the difference between a simple block and a compound block is that the compound blocks have an internal model (named method) that may consists of simple blocks, sensors, notes ets (see next image).
• Compound blocks symbol (sketch) is created by the user and it can be employed to have a simpler and better appearance of the model. However, it requires more time to build.
• Inside the compound blocks the user can put as many blocks as required to simulate a complicated piece of equipment.
• Beginner users should build first the complex equipment without using a compound block, then run the model and only later built the compound block.   
• To see the interior of a compound block, select it, right click on it, and select View | Method.
• To run the interior of a compound block, just open it and press Run.
• After running, the sensors indicate the respective values on streams (flows, temperatures etc).
