The Two Stage Flash model is used to flash the same inlet flow at two different pressures in order to obtain a higher efficiency than flashing in one stage at the same pressure.

The inlet liquor supposed at a higher pressure than atmospheric pressure is flashed first at an intermediate pressure the vapor is eliminated, than is flashed again at a lower pressure the vapor eliminated. The advantage is that the vapor flows can be used separately to heat different other equipments.
