Equipments -Steam Ejector

The Steam Ejector model emulates an ejector or a jet pump (motive stream flow).
The motive stream is normally steam. The second fluid may be either liquid or gas (vapor).

Method&Equations

The Steam_Ejector is an isentropic process. The momentum and kinetic energy of a high-velocity fluid is used to entrain and compress a second fluid stream.

The equation below is used to calculate the motive stream flow (W1):

       Eff= (W2 (H2d-H2a))/ (W1 (H1a-H1d))

where:

      Eff is the isentropic efficiency (typically 15 to 30%)

      W1 is the motive stream flow

      H1a is the motive stream enthalpy at inlet conditions

      H1d is the motive stream enthalpy at the discharge pressure and inlet entropy.

      W2 is the second fluid flow.

      H2a is the second fluid enthalpy at inlet conditions.

      H2d is the second fluid enthalpy at the discharge pressure and inlet entropy.

The inlet flow is the sum of the first and second outlet flows:

           Inlet Flow=First Outlet Flow + Second Outlet Flow
