This topic describes how to remove apiMAX™ application from your system.

How to Uninstall apiMAX™

• From your desktop, select Start | Settings | Control Panel. 
• Select Add or Remove Programs.  
• Select apiMAX in the list of programs and click Change/Remove...
• The application prompts you: "Are you sure you want to completely remove 'apiMAX' and all of its components?"
• Press the OK button.

The Windows Installer will remove apiMAX from your computer. All previously installed models will be removed. New models that you have created, the model registered and dimensional units files will not be removed.

Message for apiMAX™ 2.3.7 customers

Major issue in uninstalling apiMAX 2.37 with IE 7 installed. Please download and install the patch.

A system failure may occur if you have installed Internet Explorer 7.0 after the installation of apiMAX™ 2.3.7 version. To check what version you have, open apiMAX™ and press Help/About.

Apply to: if you have installed on your computer apiMAX™ 2.3.7 (released on July 2006), when you try to uninstall it, or you try to install a later version such as 2.4.0 or 2.5.0, Windows will not restart in normal conditions. This issue occurs due to an assembly of Internet Explorer 7.0 which is no longer found on your system.

Fix:

• Download the executable apiMaxIE7 fix patch.
• Run the patch and this will fix the Internet Explorer 7.0 assembly.
• Only after you run the patch, you can safely uninstall your version of apiMAX™ or install a new apiMAX™ version and run it.
• Behavior without the patch: Windows is not starting after uninstalling apiMAX™ and you get a warning that the file iertutil.dll is missing.
• To correct the problem manually, copy these dlls: iertutil.dll, ieui.dll, iframe.dll, hha.dll; from another machine into your local C:\Windows\system32 folder, after you have restarted in DOS mode.
