About Models

In apiMAX™ a model is a collection of Items, created with a given purpose. A model executes a job, which was designed by the model's developer.

There are five Types of models in apiMAX™.

Case Model - It is used to represent a process or a process area. It cannot be reused in other models. In apiMAX™ a case model is a file with the extension .mxm.

Examples:

A pulp mill, a brown stock wash line, an evaporator set, a bleach plant.

Composite Model - It is used to represent a single action, activity, or unit operation and it has an associated symbol. It can be reused in other models. In apiMAX™ a Composite Model is a file with the extension .mxc.

Examples:

A pump, a washer, a sensor.

The Pump model elevates the pressure in a stream. The Washer model washes a pulp stream. The Total_Flow sensor model displays the total flow rate in a stream. Each are Composite Models. They can be reused in other models.

Connector Model - It is used in a composite model to make a connection with a stream. It can be reused in other models. In apiMAX™ a Connector Model is a file with the extension .mxn.

Examples:

Liquor Inlet connector, Pulp Outlet connector.

Stream Model - It is used to transfer data from one item to another. It can be reused in other models. In apiMAX™ a Stream Model is a file with the extension .mxs.

Examples:

Pulp Stream, Liquor Stream, Chemical Stream.

Sequence Model - It is used to set the running order of the composite items. In apiMAX™ a Sequence Model is a file with the extension .mxq.
