About Models
In apiMAX™ a model is a collection of Items, created with a given purpose. A model executes a job, which was designed by the model's developer.
There are five Types of models in apiMAX™.
Case Model - It is used to represent a process or a
process area. It cannot be reused in other models. In apiMAX™ a case model is a file with the extension
.mxm.
A pulp mill, a brown stock wash line, an evaporator set, a bleach plant.
Composite Model - It is used to represent a single
action, activity, or unit operation and it has an
associated symbol. It can be reused in other models. In
apiMAX™ a Composite Model is a file with the extension .mxc.
A pump, a washer, a sensor.
The Pump model elevates the pressure in a stream. The Washer model washes a pulp stream. The Total_Flow sensor model displays the total flow rate in a stream. Each are Composite Models. They can be reused in other models.
Connector
Model - It is used in a composite model to make a
connection with a stream. It can be reused in other models. In apiMAX™ a Connector Model is a file with the extension
.mxn.
Liquor Inlet connector, Pulp Outlet connector.
Stream
Model - It is used to transfer data from one item to
another. It can be reused in other models. In apiMAX™ a Stream Model is a file with the extension .mxs.
Pulp Stream, Liquor Stream, Chemical Stream.
Sequence
Model - It is used to set the running order of the
composite items. In apiMAX™ a
Sequence Model is a file with the extension .mxq.
Steady State Sequencer.
